Initiation of construction on the Rawalpindi Ring Road project (RRR)

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) initiated work on the Rawalpindi Ring Road project after completing the survey of the track by installing concrete blocks on the track. The RRR project will begin construction activities in compliance with the approved 'Town Planning Regulations' announced by the authority. From Rawalpindi, the 48km track will begin and end at Fateh Jang. The Rawalpindi Ring Road was scheduled to start in the 2020 financial year and is projected to be completed in 2022. This is the most expected twin-city pollution reduction initiative. Rather than battling against the environmental pollution, it would offers the movement of 50,000 vehicles on regular basis. The patch of about 50 kilometers from Rawat to Thaliyan Interchange falls in Rawalpindi While covering Shah Allah Ditta, Margalla Road, Bhara Kahu, Siri Saral, Kohsar, and the remaining part of the F-series area, Islamabad will pass through. For this reason, this road would make a loop by turning back to the initial point at Rawat in Rawalpindi, which is why this road is named the Ring Road. Federal Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan said the Rawalpindi Ring Road Project would commence at Chhan Bridge and end at the initial point after passing through the Twin Cities. 100 billion PRs would cost for this mega project between Rawalpindi and Islamabad. It was no longer merely a ring road for the fortress city, as the minister said, but rather a longer passage between the twin cities.
